Netmarble’s brand-new pixel wind-showing, The Boxer: AFK, officially went online on 4 September. According to Appmagic’s data, the first week of the game (4-10 September) averaged $200,000 per day of revenue from the IAP, with a cumulative sum of $1.4 million. The first week saw more than 920,000 downloads globally, and the single download income (CPI) was approximately $1.56.

The King: AFK transformed the SNK ‘ s emblematic fight series into a placement RPG, using retro-pixels to paint the style, paying tribute to the King R-2 on Neo Geo Pocket Color. In the game, the player collects and trains 114 classic fighters, including 36 legendary characters (e.g. grasshoppers, octopus) and goes with the pet system for automatic combat. Core games are organized around role upgrading, 10 growth systems and up to 12,600 levels, and can accumulate resources even offline and be suitable for the time of fragmentation.
Before going online, Boxer: AFK has accumulated more than 1.5 million pre-registered users and has received positive feedback during the testing phase in Canada, Indonesia and the Philippines. Following the global roll-out, Netmarble launched a number of festivals, such as a 7-day sign-off and call-for-coin grant, which further stimulated players to participate. Despite a partial dispute over the former ” King Allstar ” (the latter was closed in October 2024), the idle mechanism of the ” King: AFK ” and the nostalgic vision have succeeded in attracting fans and newcomers.

According to Appmagic data, income from the first week came mainly from Korea, Japan and the United States. Korea, as a Netmarble base, naturally became a major revenue town; Japanese players were highly loyal to the original SNK IP, promoting downloads and payments; and the United States market benefited from the global promotion and leisure play ecology, contributing a significant share.
Netmarble has identified the game as a priority new item in the Q1 2025 financial paper, and further updates (such as the new level and competitive model) are expected to be further enhanced. Compared to other placements during the same period, the `Frost King: AFK ‘ ‘ ‘ s IP build-up makes it out of competition, and single-week performance exceeds the monthly data of some old hand-shows.

As part of Netmarble ‘ s diversity layout, Boxer: AFK marked the company ‘ s deep excavation of classic IP. The game supports Android 9.0+ and iOS equipment, which will be expanded in the future through a live broadcast service, including more role and cross-service.
